Yes, you realize you have a camera.

It could be the camera that is with your smart phone, be it an iPhone or an Android, either way there is a camera attached to it.  You could of decided you wanted more than a phone camera and progressed to a digital point and shoot, a DSLR (Digital Single Reflex Lens) camera, mirrorless or just wanted to go old school with a film camera. You may of even discovered that camera that has been collecting dust in the closet and deicided it was time to play with it.   Either way, its time to discover what YOU want to capture with the lens.  What story do you want to tell? Then tell it!

However, before you tell that story understand that photography means "drawing with light" so in essence what you need to capture is the phenomenon of light on a surface ... any surface.  Nothing is what is in the camera, without light and how that light reacts with the object. The object has no name - just light enveloping to make reality.  So for you, this will be the hardest thing to do and to understand, that this is all that is being photographed - light.  The camera, no matter what type it is can only record the light emitted from the surface that is in the field of view. That is all - no more than that. Just LIGHT.

So what light will you capture to tell your story?  Where will you get inspiration from? How long will it take to get inspired or an idea?
